Weekly Theme:" Calligraphy"

As I was getting this page ready, I realized that I accidently followed the calligraphy theme!

But basically, I have been wanting to make a metal clay bezel for our dichroic glass cabs, and as a first experiment, chose the etched initial cab that H made me. Not only is it small, but also I will be keeping this one since its my initials! And I always like to keep the first piece I make with a new technique.

This pendant incorporates hours of texturing, "gluing" pieces together, adding detail with the syringe and then a LOT of finishing work. I can't even say how much time went into this piece, coming back to the work bench for 15 minutes at a time because I am sick with bronchitis and sinus infection.

However, its definitely worth it to hold this finished piece. I hope that I can get faster and better at this, because I am definitely addicted to metal clay!
