2004-05 Year of Jewelry

Weekly Theme:"Newfangled Triangles" (July 13,, 2005)

This week,I had a large weekend show, and somehow came home without 25 or so of my finished pendants. The show, the loss and the resulting weariness, conspired against me and I left my weekly piece go unti lthe last possible minute, although I had the idea days earlier. I simply ran out of time to finish the entire piece. :(

However, I had the basic frame done and posted before midnight and completed the rest of the bangle before I allowed myself to do more urgent tasks. (Now how misguided and confused is that?!?!)

So here it is, both the basic skeleton I posted and the completed piece. The basic frame is a planished sterling silver series of angles and triangles and the beadwork is coiled on both for decoration and to secure the frame angles together.

Against my better judgement, I allowed the weekly theme to influence my project, rather than concentrating on other goals. I think this resulted in some confusion between me and Miss Whimsy, and I don't feel I gave this bangle my best effort. I do like the colors I chose, and the basic idea, but this is only the second one of these I have tried and if I decide to try more of them, I will endeavor to spend more time on the details.
