Weekly Theme:"Midsummer Night's Dream" (August 3, 2005)

Since I have SO many commissions now for dichroic pendants and necklaces, I bet you thought that's what you were going to see from me this week!

SHHH! Don't tell my waiting customers, but on the one midsummer day as I sat and waited for my very old kiln to warm itself to the right temperature and cook my newest dichroic beauties, I daydreamed of some "branched" jewel earrings, and wound up not being able to resist the call.

These 14K gold filled earrings, withfaceted lemon and seafoam chalcedony
"jewels," are fit for Titania, queen of the fairies, herself. Making these branches is a brand new endeavor for me and I hope to make more of these whenever I become confined to a one place for any length of time, as that's the only way I will have enough patience to do them!
