Weekly Theme:"Art Jewelry" (August 17, 2005)

Its here all too soon, the very last week of my Year of Jewelry.
While I would have liked to debut a super firecracker piece this week, in reality I did good to be able to meet my 52nd deadline on time and with something that I experimented with, in the true flavor of this challenge.

This week, I attempted to do a woven chain ring that tempted and placated my muse. Unfortunately, Miss Whimsy soon fled when the true nature of this frustrating technique became evident. Lessons learned this week: what is easy for some people isn't necessarily easy for *everyone,* and when the directions call for something, don't assume that substituting something else will yield the same results!

This green Peruvian Opal ring began life as a size 9
and currently won't fit on my size 5 1/2 pinky. However, I no desire whatsoever to perfect THIS technique, and will put this away for some future time when I have more patience than sense. LOL!
