"Blue Wails"
Sometimes winter is like a glacier, where there are only shades of blue
with the occasional rays of sun on the ice and snow. At such times,
memories and dreams of spring provide the impetus to get up each day.
This piece, crafted of sterling silver, represents the twists and twinings
of winter's darkest times. The deep blue dichroic cabochon is the winter
night; the pale blue diamond shaped cats eye cabochon is the hope of
spring, with its illusions of shimmering light. The faceted quartz beads
represent the diamond gleam of ice and snow, and the indigo round beads
and frosted medium blue melon beads add the depth of endless days and
nights of the cold winter. The neckpiece is suspended on a sterling
silver chain and fastened with a handcrafted ss hook and loop.
